This lovely linen-covered photo album will hold up to 300 of your favorite 4x6 inch photos in understated elegance. The natural fabric would make as nice a jacket as it does a cover. Book bound and with a memo space adjacent to each photo pocket, this Crystal Collection album can hold a lot of memories, up to 300 of them. And, it's acid-free and PVC-free making it an archivally safe place to store your prints. But it will store more than just your prints, the album comes with a storage pocket for CDs or negatives. So, no matter what form your original shooting was in (film or digital) you can keep those original images with the prints you made from them. Finally, the album comes with a handsome black band that's attached to the back cover but which can be pulled over the top cover to keep the album tight and trim when it's not open for view (very handy if you store your albums on a shelf).
Comments about Crystal Collection Linen-Covered Photo Album for 300 4x6 Photos:
Great for organizing large numbers of photos because of ease of use and low price. Photos fit snugly into pockets. Pages are a plain, soft white so there is no annoying background pattern showing underneath or around the photos. The result is that the pages disappear and the focus is on the photos only. There is space to the side of each photo (unnecessarily, but unobtrusively) marked "Memo" where you can add a caption on several (unobtrusive) lines that help keep writing neat.
I tried Kolo's much more expensive Hudson album, but didn't buy more because a jagged, lumpy crease buckled the entire length of the spine as soon as I opened it. This looked very bad on the shelf. The Crystal's linen cover and spine are in great shape after much use and look tidy and refined lined up on my shelves.
My only complaints: (1) The seams between pockets could be glued more securely. Sometimes they separate from the page, though rarely. (2) I can't tell *for sure* whether the clear photos pockets are of archival quality. The leaflet says "archival pages", but that could refer to the paper only, in which case the clear pocket might not be "archival." The sales person wasn't sure either.
Nevertheless, I heartily recommend these. I have 20 albums and my children and I look through them often. They have held up beautifully, and I plan to order many more.
