I use this as a backup battery when out and about taking photos. Makes it nice to have a spare battery to make sure I don't miss a shot. - Take lots of photos in the Columbia River Gorge, as well as photos around Gresham.

It is great to have a spare battery when doing long exposures during asrtophotography. Using the XSI attached to my Schmidt Cassegrain and taking advantage of the real time zoom mode eats up a lot of battery power, but these batteries last almost 2x as long as the battery for my XTI.

The LP-E5 that came with my camera is still going strong but having a spare is always smart. This battery charges quickly and holds a charge well. I've taken well over 1,000 photos with the original and have had to charge it only twice. Carrying a charged spare is wise and the size, shape, and protective cover that comes with this battery make it easy to take an extra along.

This battery is easy to install and long lasting, but I would recommend having an extra battery. You never know when your old battery will die and the perfect photo opportunities are there waiting for you.

It's a real Canon battery. I've been sold knockoffs in the past (not at Ritz) and they are junk. I may never use the spare I carry because the capacity of these batteries is huge, but I like to be safe when I'm on a once-in-a-lifetime trip.

My new Canon Xsi requires this new type of battery. I would prefer being able to use the same battery as my Xti or my 40D but since I started using the new LP-E5 battery I am very pleased with it's quick recharge time and it's long lasting power. Although the camera was redesigned to utilize less power, this battery is also designed to hold more power. A great move on Canon's part. I always purchase from Ritz Camera because of their prices and professional web site.

I have the previous battery for my Canon Elph S870. This new battery lasts significantly longer, and the charge time is somewhat faster. I like the fact that the sensitive parts of the battery are now encased in the covering. That was a smart idea, but I'm a little puzzled as to what took Canon so long to figure that one out.
