This power pack includes a battery tray for both the rechargable battery that comes with the Nikon D7000 and a tray for 6 AA batteries which is nice when an electrical outlet is a ways away.
It also adds volume to the D7000 for those with bigger hands... and the shutter release on it when shooting in portrait makes it user friendly.

this makes the camera much easier to hold. I also like the added time between having to charge batteries
