I own 3 SanDisk CF Extreme III Memory Cards, but one is being used by a friend who has not returned it after a year! He purchased two larger capacity CF cards off the Internet thinking that all memory cards were the same. He borrowed one of mine noting the much quicker writing performance of the SanDisk card which is perhaps this is the reason he has yet to return it!
On a yacht for a state photo expedition in Maryland, I shot in JPEG to capture images of this annual boat race. I had the other CF card in my camera bag and decided to give it a try. I noticed my camera buffering after each shot at a much slower speed. I had my camera set on single frame and never shot more than 2 pictures within a second. When I uploaded the images several were partial exposures (images). This had never happened before in over 10K exposures using only SanDisk CF Extreme III Memory Cards. I recently used this same Internet card, this time shooting in RAW and the same thing happened again. However this time it was just a practice photo session!
Basically if the images your are capturing are important to you chose reliability, speed and noted performance and purchase a SanDisk CF Extreme III Memory Card to have the assurance of at least capturing the images as framed. Plus, if it should ever fail, besides the lifetime warranty, it also comes with a recovery disk which I have never had to use!
