I am not a crafter, but my friend of mine had these scissors and showed me how to make a hand-made booklet with photos and poetry that I could give as a gift. I was sceptical, but I tried it and it made a beautiful deckle-edge on the pages. I love that 'torn-page' look on old, antique books. It looked very professional and when I finished, it looked like I had spent hours on the edges alone; I was very proud of myself and it made a lovely personal gift for mother's day. The only problem I had as an amateur was that the scissors arms were not long enough to make a continuous cut through the paper and I found it difficult to find the exact place on the scissors to continue with the design so it looked like a continuous and unbroken line.

I have purchased the cheap scissors and after using Fiskars, I would never, ever go back.

The deckle edge scissor is my "go-to guy" when making greeting cards and other paper crafts.
