The only real problem I've had is trying to get animal shots, when the animal is moving around fast. The camera's lag time is better than other cameras I've tried, but still misses the shot with fast action a lot. Also, the battery runs down fairly fast, and there is a wait time between shots when this happens.
I'm very happy with it otherwise. I love close up photography of flowers, and after a little practice, I've had good results with the macro feature. All my shots come out nice and clear.

Loved the camera until the screen went blank 3 months after purchase. Camera still works, just can't review pictures, or use the screen to take them. Pictures will download to the computer. After taking it to the store, I found out it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get repaired. Thats almost 2 months without the camera to use. Very disappointed.

this was one of the easiest cameras I have ever had to get aquainted with, the setup and controls were very easy and I was able to pick it up and began uing it almost immediately. I do find that it lags a little more than the one I replaced and I have not had good luck in low light conditions. I plan to purchase the additional flash shoe and lens and I will continue to read the instruction book so I can take full advantage of all the amenities, perhaps I will figure out why I am having a problem with the lag time and lighting through additional research. But so far our 4th of July and Vacation pictures have been spectacular. My family thinks I'm a pro.

I upgraded from another PowerShot camera - twice - in the last 5 years. I took my first shot quickly after an easy set-up and was amazed at the clarity and color of the picture. I carry my A720 IS with me every day - just in case I see something that I need to capture! I've got my eye on a "regal" crane that poses on a limb at the lake I pass every day. Problem - there is no place to pull off the road to take that cool shot! So I've got to get creative!

I learned Photography at my father's "knee" so to speak and was working alongside him in his darkroom from the age of 4 on. I later married a Pro who was a Photog. in the Army in Viet Nam and we met after he came home and he taught me 35mm and I did quite a few Pro jobs afterwards until we divorced. But I have weakened wrists due to Carpal Tunnel and the surgeries to repair both wrists. I didn't do any work with my larger Minolta outfit which really is heavy now for me to use. So I had been looking at buying a digital ever since they came out and was always waiting for that "one" and about 2 months ago I decided to go on and buy the A570, which I liked, then during the 10 day leeway period I decided to upgrade to the A580 for the same price and THEN when the next day's paper came out, I saw the A720 was available for just $50.00 more! So I went back and upgraded again mainly because the 580 didn't have the interchangeable lens capabilities nor did it have the easier "discard" button on the back of the camera! I'm so glad I upgraded! Love this one!
So glad I waited til I found what I wanted! Sometimes you just have to keep trading in til you get what you want!

i use the my camera for everything!i love all the different setting i have.i love how close i can get,the big screen to view my pics.i dont like the fact it takes to long to take a picture.i wish it could be very quick about taking a pic,but overall i love this camera it was the best pick for me thank you.

I use this camera for general use. It is MUCH faster than my old Casio QV3500. It dose not take pictures as sharp and bright as the Casio3.3MP,
but the speed of taking those pictures is fantastic. Also the 6 X optical is just perfect for my all around use. Although it takes a little more work to tune up the pictures in iPhoto, it is a very good camera.

Lots of features for the cost. I replaced a budget point-and-shoot the kids broke with the A720. I stll have the excellant A710 at 7 mgp.
