The COOLPIX S210 features Electronic VR Image Stabilization, which is designed to help produce sharper and clearer images, especially in lower lighting conditions or when capturing moving subjects. Users can also take advantage of extended light sensitivity settings as high as ISO 2000. Automatic sensitivity control is also included, which allows users to concentrate on a taking a photo while the camera selects the optimal ISO. To minimize blur, the S210 comes with a High-Sensitivity mode that automatically selects the optimal light sensitivity. The COOLPIX S210 utilizes Nikon's innovative EXPEED image processing system for enhanced noise reduction and improved the signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio.
The COOLPIX S210 comes with a bright, high resolution 2.5-inch LCD monitor with a wide 170-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle. The LCD monitor has an anti-reflective coating, easing the composition of photos even in direct sunlight, and an acrylic panel that prevents scratches and fingerprints. The S210 also boasts improved menu displays, as well as revised menu icons that will make framing photos easier than ever before.
Like all cameras in the COOLPIX line, the S210 boasts user-friendly imaging innovations designed to make the photo-taking process fun and easy. These technologies, referred to as Nikon In-Camera Innovations, include In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting, and Face Priority AF. In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically detects and corrects red eye, a common condition that occurs in flash photography. In playback mode, D-Lighting compensates for excessive backlight or insufficient flash in images, and Nikon’s enhanced Face-Priority AF automatically finds and focuses on up to 12 people’s faces within one frame, ensuring clear, crisp portraits.
The COOLPIX S210 comes bundled with Nikon's exclusive COOLPIX Software Suite for organizing, editing and sharing photos. The S210 is SDHC compatible and utilizes the Nikon's ultra-compact EN-EL10 rechargeable Li-ion battery. The S210 will be available in a selection of colors such as plum, graphite black, cool blue, and brushed bronze.

This is a great camera for travel. The picture quality is real nice. The only lacking is action shots are not as good as still but I don't use mine for action shots that offen.

Great compact little camera. Well made and sturdy. Does take a little too long to take the picture which causes the subject to move and the picture to blur. Even using action setting, blurs easily. Great for travel on the motorcycle, fits right in your pocket. Takes a while to get used to holding, very small and thin if you have big hands.

the S210 can be used any where without concerns, it is compact, very easy to use and looks great. The battery life is no concern, it last a long period of time, the picture quality is more than expected for 8MP. All in all I would recomend this camera for starters or the most experianced person. Thank you Nikon for such a versitile product, I would recomend this camera to everyone, I already have.

This camera is best suited for casual photographers. If you're looking for a great camera for casual events, including family pictures, vacations, or just for fun usage, then you've got one.
However, if you're looking for a professional camera with xxx-megapixel and whatnot, then I suggest the camera you are looking for is a bit more pricey and superior than the Nikon Coolpix S210.
To sum it up, it's a great, small, handy camera that I would highly recommend for non-pro photographers.

This is a great little camera. I love the size. Fits in my shirt pocket and easy to reach when I need to take a picture. For the money, you can't beat it. Excellent quality pictures even at 16" x 20". This camera is easy to use. Basically, it is just point and click. Also, I like that you can get approximately 30 pictures at 8 mega pixels on the internal memory without a memory card.

I use this small digital camera for travel and outdoor activities primarily. I really like the optical zoom (i.e. uses real lens for zoom, not software). It is also so small that it easily fits into your pocket. The pictures are very sharp. Downloading is a snap. I only wish the battery life could be extended.

Good camera, and I love the large LCD window. Had to experiment to figure out how to review pictures without opening the lens. It might have been in the instructions, but I'd prefer it to just be more intuitive on the camera itself.
Can't use standard batteries, so you'll have to spend extra for an extra battery if you want it. It charges fast, though!

I am an art photographer specializing in narrative work. My Nikon D80 is my main camera, sitll use the coopix 4400. But I carry the coolpix in my purse all the time. It allows me to capture those speical photos quickly and with the clarity, color and size I need.
I am extremely pleased with this camera and recommend it to everyone , both casual and experienced photographrs.

I wasn't ready to spend alot of money on a digital SLR. I decided since most of my hobbies become seldom used. I found the little Nikon on sale and wanted to try my hand with online selling. The camara takes excellent pictures and is easy to use. The telephoto and wide angle lense adjustment is ergonomic and easy to use. It seems constructed well.

I bought Fujifilm Z10fd before this one for my niece. After I bought S210 for me, I said again that Nikon is different always. I give back Z10fd and I bought second S210. I paid more but I know that good and lifelong. I takes good picture under every condition.
