    The drive caused my WindowsXP system to refuse to boot. If you unplug the drive,then you can boot. Plug it back in, and the drive works fine. My IT technician did online research and found that it is a common problem with this drive. I returned the drive to the manufacturer.

    It's a great Hard Drive. I've owned two Western Digital External drives and they've both been great. I currently use this one and a 500 GB one with my MacBook. When I plugged it in, it automatically offered to Sync with Time Machine and it's been automatically backing up every time I plug it in since, while the 500 GB one is used for movies and photos that I don't have room to keep on my internal Hard Drive forever. The only downside really is the lack of FireWire 400 connectivity, but the USB works out pretty fine for the price.
