I recently purchased the Epson R380 to replace a Canon i900D Printer that I purchased several years. The quality print jobs of my Canon is far superior to the Epson. I have done side by side comparison prints. The Epson is an embarrassment. My Canon printer is so old it has been discontinued. It is also low on 3 of the 6 ink cartridges and it still prints better than the Epson R380.
I do not recommend the Epson R380. I will be keeping my Canon printer.

I'm glad it has a screen (although small). It's enough to guide you through,all of it's important functions. Though I would suggest having a LCD flat screen,to view your pictures. I purchased a seperate printer for doing all my other paper work.Prints well and is much easier on ink.This leaves my Epson R380 free for photos.

I upgraded from a epson 880i to the r380. The r380 gives you a quality photo on regular mode. I do not get the lines that i used to get from the 880i in regular print mode. Copies from start to finish take no time at all. Regular print finishes in less than 8 sec. Photos finish in about 12 to 15 sec. My kids use the print cd mode. That also looks great. For the price, this is the best out there. Epsons ink cartriges can be found very cheaply, if you look. I just bought my cartriges for [$], generic of course. Had no problem installing them. I recommend this printer highly. I rate this a 4.5 I never give a perfect score.

I bought this printer to use with a Nikon D40X that I bought to shoot progress photos with. ( I work construction). My wife was so taken with the image quality output, that she made me buy it for ourselves, rather than having my company pay for it. The pics come out suitable for framing, and you can't tell the difference between those photos and professionally developed pics from film cameras.

The printer was purchased as a gift. I've had it since Christmas and am still fustrated with it. The printer will print good pictures only if you use Epson photo paper and the quality is still not excellent. If you use the wrong paper setting the quality is terrible and you can only print on photo papers or regular white paper. Also the printer eats ink especially the black ink. I've bought more ink than I have printed pictures and you can only purchase the ink cartiges at a few location. It is cheaper to develope the pictures at a local store than it is to use the printer. If you like to print pictures with quality it is not the printer to get.
