Comments about Dakota Dakota 7" Portable Digital TV (Built-in Tuner, SD Card Slot, USB or AV Inputs):
This product really sucks. Right out of the box, one of them already had a low TV battery. The default date on there is from 1999??? Just how old are these? I bought two of these. One for a back bedroom while on the treadmill, one for work. I cannot get either one of these to get ANY signal anywhere inside my house, NOR outside the house. Nothing. Forget about getting any signal unless you hook up to cable... which kinda defeats the purpose of even having this. I can get a signal for the one at my work, but the antenna MUST be right at the window and CANNOT be moved. The screen was clear and clean, but this was the only place I could get it to work. It's awkward though, because the antenna is thick and large. Not like the other bendy-wire ones we've seen for decades. It was too awkward for my office. I can't even use this as an AV set up for my security cameras, either. I've tried all three of my cameras for look for video — and allI get is a "no sync" error. WTH is that? I'm not trying to sync anything... only view a camera. The owner's manual is absolutely worthless, doesn't even have a "no sync" error listed. Don't bother to try to download anything, either. I'm on a powerful iMac, but for some reason, if I tried to see if there wereany downloads available, it wouldn't work. It acted like I wasn't even plugged in. Again, that pesky "no sync" error. What is it trying to sync, anyway? It's a stupid TV, not a computer! At least when I sync my iPad to my iTunes, I know what it's trying to do! [...] So [$] was literallythrown in the trash. They are completely useless to me, as nothing on them works worth a carp. My 5 year old 'under the counter' tv with the government discounted digital cable converter works better than this carp. Also, the buttons are backward. The UP buttons are on the LEFT, and the DOWN are on the RIGHT. Ummm, no. Down is always on (or turned toward) the LEFT, up on the right. At least that's the way it's been for all other electronics I've owned the past 40 years have been. Who designed this mess? DO NOT BUY unless you plan on hooking up to cable - or not. The rest didn't seem to work, so who knows.
