I've used the Bogen monopod several times since it arrived, and am very impressed. I'm well over 6' tall, and it extends enough for me to use without having to crouch at all. It expands and contracts quickly, easily and very quietly, which is crucial in wildlife and bird photography. It is definitely strong enough to handle my camera and big lenses.
It is heavy and fairly large even when contracted, but those are minor cons in relation to all the positive features. I am very happy with this purchase!

I have used this while shooting soccer and softball tournaments. It's quick open/close feature with use of the handle and foot at the base is very reliable. The max height on this is great for me (am 6'1") and allows me to stand comfortable w/out having to partianly hunch over like the 680. Used with a D200 w/batt grip, and 300 2.8 mounted, monopod stood up very well against the weight and helped me deliver great results.
