The 14-54mm lens is a high-quality standard zoom lens. It covers the zoom range of 28-108mm on a 35mm camera, and the closest focusing distance is 22cm in the entire zoom area. High image magnification of 0.26x (equivalent to 0.52x on a 35mm camera) is good for close-up shots.

Luxurious three glass aspherical lenses are used to give the high image quality with high-resolution and good contrast.

    This is a great little all-around lens -- very versatile, well built, good optical quality, and weather-resistant to boot. The mark II version also supports Contrast Auto Focus, so you'll get super-fast focusing using Live View.

    What else can I say that wasn't said already. Best thing is I don't have to use a diaopter for underwater photography. Clear sharp and clean images.

    I replaced the 14-45 kit lens from my E500 which I have been using on my E3 and is a good lens. But WOW, this lens is super! And at this price cannot be beat. Best feature to me is the direct focus compared to the "wire focus" on kit lenses. Next, it focuses so much more quickly and precisely. The distance scale on the lens barrel is a big plus also. I enjoy close-up work and this lens focuses to within under 9"! Being weatherproof makes it fully compatible with the E-3.
