Multi-Coating improves overall quality of filter by correcting for refractive properties of the filter glass. With multi-coated glass your photos will look sharper and have more contrast. Though most people use the UV Haze to protect their lens from dust and scratches, it also absorbs ultra violet and blue rays without affecting exposure or color.

This filter of course, is great at protecting an expensive lens. However, it also gives really good filtering qualities to help control haze and cut through the atmosphere in landscapes.

If you're a Professional Photographer then you should buy a very high filter. But for general use, this one is perfect. And for the price you can easily replace it if it gets damaged without shedding a tear.

This is a great buy for my Nikon D60. I primarily bought this as the lens protector. After lot of analysis, "multi-coated" UV filter seems to the best one as it maintains the picture quality with UV filtering.

I bought one of these filters (52mm) for each of my new Nikkor lenses to both protect the lens and perform the UV filter job. The filters are light-weight, yet very sturdy and well-made. I'm happy to have to security of such a quality product.

I bought the filter to protect a new lens from scratches and dust, it protects the lens very well. From my non-professional standpoint, I haven't noticed any difference in the quality of my photos in terms of sharpness or contrast but am more than satisfied with my purchase nonetheless.
