I bought this tripod because I wanted something affordable that I could practice with as I learn the art of photography. This was one of my best investments yet. The price is low, and it is almost always very stable. Also, there are many adjustments you can make to have it fit your needs.

Comments about Quantaray QSX 2001 UT Tripod:

I bought this for a D80 with a MD-80 grip and mainly shoot a 18-200 VR. I am within the weight specs but it would be better suited to a point and shoot or light SLR/DSLR. One problem I found was the vertical adjustment with the pan tension in the back puts the MB-80 grip shutter release on the bottom. This is difficult for this and many other cameras. It puts the shutter release in the wrong position. It is great for travel. Light and closes down to a very good height. I hated to take it back but I need a beefer model. BTW it fits great on the Micro Trekker 200.
