Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Camera w/EF-S 18-55 Lens:

This camera is one of the best in the world in this price range . If you are highly focussed in photography aline Nikon D5100 is better . But Otherwise on all accounts , its the T3i/600D .
The Advanced zoom at full HD without a telephoto lense is the best part . You wouldnt regret a thing about it , but will always boast about it .

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Camera w/EF-S 18-55 Lens:

This is the second T3i I've owned. The first one I bought, I took with me to do a feature about fallen Vets. I had the camera, lenses, tripod, everything in my saddlebags on my Harley. This ended up to be the first mistake of the day. My saddlebags fell off, ending in quite a show on the highway of how well the cars behind me can handle. The camera ended up getting run over along with the lens, and tripod. Now........
I needed this camera for the "flip screen". I wanted to be able to get above the crowd to see what's on stage, as well as get shots from "worm's eye view" without lying in the dirt. This camera is 18 MP, that's a HUGE picture no matter what you're doing. Clarity, simplicity, it's all in this camera. I belive the only limits to the camera, are the ones YOU posess. I am generally a Motorcycle writer/photographer, and needed LARGE prints for magazines, news papers, and such. This camera delivered in a wonderful way. Couldn't be happier with it's performance, and, I didn't have to spen more than $1,000 to get that performance! So, if I "loose" this camera again, it's fairly easy to replace!
I belive the construction of the camera is top notch. It doesn't feel cheap, or flimzy in any way. Build is nice, attatching lenses is easy, and you can get everything for this camera that you can get for any higher end cameras. I love this camera and no matter how many get run over, I will always have at least one T3i!

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Camera w/EF-S 18-55 Lens:

I am a Motorcycle writer/photographer. I needed a camera that could shoot elevated angles, and low angles, with good quality images, and do it with a bunch of mega pixels. I also go to a lot of rallies and needed something relatively inexpensive in case the party got too rowdy. This camera does all of that and more. I talked to as many photographers as I could as to why they prefer Nikon to Canon, and all had the same thing to say, it's personal preference. For me to get the same performance and amount of mega pixels in a Nikon, the price would skyrocket.
From shooting moving/action shots of biker games, to portrait like shots of the people at the rallies, this camera hits the nail on the head. Being under $1,000, it's priced where it can be replaced, and with the flip out screen, I can get above the crowd to see what's going on, on the stage, as well as shoot from "worm's eye view" without lying on the ground. The automatic settings are a great place to start for beginner photographers, and the advanced photographer will like the advanced settings. Aperture settings, shutter speed, all can be changed and set to how you want to take the picture, or if time doesn't allow, twist the button and *click*! You've got perfect shots all the time.

The one thing I found somewhat inconvenient was the 18-55 lens. It has no real zoom, and getting peoples' faces became a bit difficult from any kind of distance. It does serve well as a macro lens, even though I don't think this is what it's designed for. I bought the 75-300 zoom and remedied that problem, now I can get up into the action. I have no real complaints about this camera. It does everything I need it to do with userability to boot, and would recommend this camera to anyone amateur, or pro.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Camera w/EF-S 18-55 Lens:

I bought this camera for a trip across America, by train, and received it a few days in advance. It was my first DSLR and I put considerable research into the purchase. Frankly I was impressed. Despite the cons I had heard about, they were actually quite minimal and I was surprised by what I got for the price. Despite a lack of image stabilization on one of my lenses, and no IS built into the camera body itself, even at 75 out to 300mm zoom on the shaky train the T3i still turned out surprisingly sharp images on the right settings. It did have some issues with motion blurring sometimes, but even on the train it managed to get crisp still images. The motion blurring could be faulty settings on my part but I have heard rumors about the camera lacking in this department. Even so the train pictures came out well.

As a beginner I very much appreciated how little tinkering was required to find what those settings were, how fast I managed to find them, and how straight forward the menus and features were.

Needless to say I wasn't disappointed with the T3i and was in fact impressed by what it could do. Especially for the price. There are better cameras out there that are specialized, but considering the general applicability of the T3i and it's outstanding price I would say that it is definitely worth the investment and is a keeper. The video and audio quality were also superb and it was easy to use. Also the tilting and swiveling screen was more useful than expected.

There weren't any glaring flaws in this camera for me and my general uses. In fact it exceeded my expectations and offered features that I didn't even know I needed. I cannot say that it was perfect but it was without any major faults and, further, it seemed to well exceed its price tag in quality and performance.

Finally I was quite impressed with the 18-55mm kit lens. Kit lenses are notorious for their low quality but for the extra $99 it actually offered quite a lot and was a quality lens. I would go with this option were I to buy the camera again. I don't think I could have done better than the T3i all things considered. I am enthusiastic about this camera and it has been awhile since the purchase. Also friends of mine have taken a fancy to it, and have actively set out to invest in the T3i themselves. Further some of them are in the industry and were film majors with much more advanced equipment and more money and motivation to spend on higher quality cameras than myself. My experience with the T3i has been extremely positive. I've yet to get one negative comment about it or be frustrated with it.

That said, I would recommend a hands-on experience with it before buying. Also a review of the specs and obvious things of that nature. With all those things considered, this has been my personal experience with the T3i.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3i Digital SLR Camera w/EF-S 18-55 Lens:

Buy an extra battery because you will end up shooting a lot more because it's a great camera. My T3i kit (stock lense) was delivered 3-29-2011 and I'm shooting my own Artwork Photography as I redecorate my walls. Having a blast creating videos for website. I am thinking about surprising a friend with one because they want one and cannot afford it. I really can't afford another one either but I like making others happy.
