Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR Camera w/18-55 EF-S Lens:

I have been a life long point and shoot photo enthusiast who could never take the time to learn what "settings" were or how to use them. After a run of frustrations with "missed" or poor quality wildlife shots, a friend recommended this camera as a good transition between P&S and DSLR.

I have been using the camera (nearly daily) for the past 5 weeks and have come to agree that this is a great learners camera. It offers very good quality at a reasonable price with the familiar P&S auto settings that allow for a novice to revert back to their old habits, if they need.

I have been testing each of the different settings and have found the camera's "Explanation" messages, on the LCD screen to be very helpful. It makes it nice, not to have to carry the manual around and simply turn the knob and have the camera remind you what this particular setting's best use is.

I will admit to some frustrations, in that, as a transition camera, it does assume a user knowledge base that I do not possess so, often I am feel like I'm "testing" rather than taking a photo. It is user friendly but, maybe not as friendly as a first timer might need.

The image quality is incredibly and the flexibility it offers with lens options, remote control, additional flash, etc is incredible. I have 3 lenses at the moment and find myself switching back and forth all of the time. I do have a concern about the durability of the camera, as I am always hiking when using it however, I can't really speak to it's rugged nature, as I've only had it 5 weeks.

All in all, if you are wanting to try a reasonably priced DSLR that offers good quality, great flexibility and some fun features, this is the camera for you.

I love my new camera. I am an old school who loved her 35mm film camera. Tried a little digital but nothing compares to holding a real camera with substance, I am still learning but love the picturs so far and love the features.

I am not a professional photographer. I normally take pictures of friends and family. However, when I bought my new camera I became more interested in photography because it is so easy to use! I can take excellent, high quality pictures without worrying about getting set up. Although it is bulky, it comes with a handy strap that makes carrying it around not so bad. I was recommended this product by a friend and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to everyone. It takes fantastic pictures without the struggles of set up that plague those who are not professional photographers.

This is a great entry level digital camera when moving up from a point and shoot type camera. The camera is so useful at sporting events and taking pictures of wildlife. The zoom lense give you very close and detailed photos. It's easy to use with a little practice. I would consider myself a novice photographer, but you couldn't tell from my photos.

My wife loved the present for christmas, the online order was better then the price of the same in the store. Also included several other items that would have cost several hundred dolars more. Telephoto lens, 600 free prints, free online classes, free digital picture frame, Only negative was the lack if a flash card for instant use. I was told by a local retailer that the disk would be included.
