Comments about Canon 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6L EF IS USM Lens:
The 28-300mm has so many functions. I've had this lens for almost 2 years with no regrets. I travel throughout the Columbia Gorge and have captured amazing outdoor shots. It isn't the lightest lens but the range is so exceptional you can get away with taking the one lens. I love this lens and definitely would recommend it. It's not cheap so be sure it's something you really want or need.

Comments about Canon 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6L EF IS USM Lens:
The 28-300mm has an awesome range and great if you can take just one lens. It's also perfect for those times where you need the range, but don't exactly have time to keep swapping lenses. It's not for the faint of heart. At around 3.8lbs, it's not lightweight, but at [$] it'll keep your wallet light. While it IS a good lens, if you need cleaner shots and have the luxury of time, you're better off with covering the 28-300 sweep with a 24-70mm and 70-200mm. The 28-300 lens' range comes at the expense of some barrel distortion and falloff. All in all, I love this lens and definitely recommend it.

- Sharp Focus
Cons
- A little Heavy

Comments about Canon 28-300 mm f/3.5-5.6L EF IS USM Lens:
A great lenses when you need a wide variety of ranges in situations where you don't have time to change lenses or can't carry but one lense. I would recommend the purchase of a monopod if you are using the lenses for prolonged periods, like at sporting events. Even with the weight issues the Image stabilizer eliminates blurring when not using a support. If you can afford it - get it - you will be pleased with the results.
