This is not a backpack type tripod. It's a little heavy, but I expected as much. This is not the top of the line but for my needs everything I want. I recommend.

The tripod is nice, I will say that. It's good and strong, and it does extend well. But, it does not have three way panning. You CANNOT turn it from landscape to portrait. So, if you want that feature, don't buy this tripod.
