| The AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm, the next generation of Nikon's all-time best-selling premium high-ratio zoom, combines an 11X zoom range with VR II to provide DX-format enthusiasts with an extremely versatile zoom range in a compact form-factor. Nikon enhanced construction to include a zoom lock switch, to allow photographers to secure the lens barrel at its minimum length, eliminating the natural gravitational effect that can draw the barrel downward during transport. The inclusion of Nikon's exclusive Super Integrated Coating (SIC) reduces instances of ghosting or flaring. Whether shooting artistic landscapes or vacation snapshots, this lens provides fast and quiet AF operation with the help of Nikon's SWM technology. Designed to be a one-lens solution and weighing in at a scant 19.9 ounces and measuring only 3.8 inches in length, this lens provides an extraordinary (35mm equivalent) picture angle of 27-300mm when mounted on any Nikon DX-format camera such as the new D300s or D3000 D-SLR cameras. Additionally, the optical formula contains two ED glass elements and three aspherical lenses to minimize chromatic aberration and distortion. The resulting images exhibit extreme sharpness, extraordinarily vibrant color and crisp contrast. A remarkable 18-200mm one-lens solution?adept in a wide variety of situations. Picture angle equivalent of a 27-300mm lens in 35mm format. Vibration Reduction, engineered specifically for each VR NIKKOR lens, enables handheld shooting at up to 4 shutter speeds slower than would otherwise be possible, assuring dramatically sharper images. Offers superior sharpness and color correction by effectively minimizing chromatic aberration, even at wide aperture settings. Virtually eliminates coma and other aberrations, even at wide apertures. Secures lens barrel at its minimum length. Enhances light transmission and offers superior color consistency and reduced flare. For fast, accurate and quiet autofocus. Renders more natural appearance of out-of-focus image elements. Extends versatility. Enables quick response to changing situations between manual and autofocus operation. Included HB-35 lens hood?shades the objective from unwanted, image-degrading light. |

Comments about Nikon 18-200mm DX f/3.5-5.6 ED VR II Lens:
Though I am very happy with the product, I am not happy with the customer service. When I placed the order I was told that the product is in stock and and also I got the free 2 day shipping deal. The very next day, I got notification saying that it is out of stock. They sent me after 3 weeks and that too in ground shipping and not the 2 day shipping they promised. Also the customer service really not good. They were repeating the same answer as though they were programmed. If not for the price I would have gone with the [@] for better service.

Great lens. You won't need any others because of the range this one provides. Metal construction, very well made although not made in Japan. Thailand? Whatever.

Comments about Nikon 18-200mm DX f/3.5-5.6 ED VR II Lens:
I received this lens as a gift when it first came out on the market after I researched and requested this specific product. I photographed everything from action wildlife to distant scenery children and weddings as well as garden photography. If you're only going to buy one lens this is it. The only time I wish I had a 300mm lens is in the photography of small birdlife at a distant range. At this point I'm considering an upgrade to my camera body and will definately use this lens on it.

Comments about Nikon 18-200mm DX f/3.5-5.6 ED VR II Lens:
I love this 18-200 lens. I have had it for several years now with no problems. I would recommend anyone to buy this lens. The only problem I have is the cost. It's worth the extra money but not everyone can afford it. Nikon should lower the cost and allow more to find out what I have. It's great...
