30mm f/1.4 DC HSM Prime Lens has a 35mm focal length equivalent of 45mm and encompasses a number of features which makes this DC lens ideal for everyday photography situations. It has HSM (Hyper-sonic Motor) for super smooth auto focusing, Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) elements to counter the effects of extreme temperatures and consequent loss of optical quality and has a rear focusing mechanism. 9-blade aperture diaphragm and 9 elements arranged in 8 groups completes the construction.

The HSM ensures quiet, accurate and high-speed autofocus; the Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting, while the TSC reduces expansion and contraction of the internal lens barrel. A rear focus system prevents focus-dependent variation in aberration, making high-level image quality possible throughout the entire image. With their unchanging barrel length, these lenses also enhance balance and stability for the photographer. An optimized autofocus achieves a smoother focusing. The 30mm 1.4 has a minimum focusing distance of 11.8in and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:6.8. A 9 blade rounded diaphragm creates beautiful bokeh.
