Laura's Designer Tip: Add worn edges to the book and chipboard letters by sanding off the edges.

Instructions:

1. Lightly sand the edges of the book cover and add pen stitching.

2. Punch holes in the left edge with a Crop-A-Dile and hook the covers together with book rings. Tie knots of ribbons to the rings.

3. Sand the edges of the chipboard alphabet letters and add pen details. Glue dot to the book cover.

4. Add the Dazzles border sticker under the title and larger birds above the chipboard letters.

5. Pierce holes in the cover and secure the keyhole with brads.

My Vacation Album

LeNae's Designer Tip: To adhere the overlay to the cover, hide the adhesive under items glued to the top of the overlay, such as the twill border and the die cut pieces. Use a small amount of glue stick to secure the overlay to the edges of the album.

Instructions:

1. Remove the posts and pages from the album and use the surface of the inkpad to ink the album binding. Glue the blocked plaid/tweed and brocade paper to the front cover. Turn the cover over and use the knife to trim away excess paper. Cover the back of the album with plaid paper.

2. Cut the "vacation" overlay so that the definition fits within the tweed section. Glue a 2-3/4" x 2" vacation photo to the right side of the brocade section. Glue twill under the Vacation definition and a black knotted ribbon from the kit to the left end of the twill. Adhere the die cut shapes below the twill.

3. Journal the vacation destination and date onto the light ivory cardstock. Cut into a strip and ink the edges black. Glue above the photo.

Summer Family Fun Letter Box Tray

Susan's Designer Tip: I covered each compartment in the tray with paper or photos, then embellished each one differently with Dazzles stickers, ribbon, and punched butterflies and dragonflies. I backed some Dazzles with holographic paper or colored paper to embellish them before adding them to the tray. I cut a flower from the pink border paper, cut it in two pieces, then glued one piece to the left side of a compartment in the tray. I glued the second piece of the flower to the adjacent compartment, matching up the edges of the flower with the first piece. I punched holographic paper circles for flower centers.

Instructions:

1. Turn the tray so the handle is at the left side. Cut pieces of patterned and solid papers to fit inside the compartments and glue in place, alternating colors for a pleasing arrangement.

2. Add photos to some compartments as desired. Embellish as shown with Dazzles, holographic paper, punched dragonflies and butterflies, and ribbon.

3. Use the template to trace and cut out a blue paper tag and ink the edges. Computer print or write on the center, then punch a 1/8" hole at the top. Add a sun sticker around the hole, then hang from handle with ribbon. Tie lime gingham ribbon to handle as shown.

Relaxing Birthday Card

Susan's Designer Tip: I sanded the sand pail Brad Buddy and brads for added texture and to highlight the embossed details of the embellishments. I used the Multi-Shaper Punch to create a border in the orange paper, overlapping the blue for great contrast! I repeated the look on the inside.

Instructions:

1. Turn the card so the fold is at the left. Cut a 5" x 6-1/2" striped paper rectangle and cover the bottom 2" with blue textured paper.

2. To create the border: For the first punch, remove the magnetic punch head from the base and place the orange paper on the base. Lightly place the upper punch on paper allowing magnets to lock in place and firmly press on the center of the lever with heel of hand. After the first cut, align punched paper with raised pink design guide labeled "border". Replace punch and press lever. Continue punching a third image.

3. Trim the orange paper to 5" x 3-1/2" with the border centered at the bottom. Write or computer print a greeting 1-3/4" from the top of the orange piece, with space between the words for the "fun" word fragment. Glue to bottom of the rectangle over the blue textured paper. Glue the "fun" in place between the words.

4. Sand 2 yellow sunshine brads, blue sunglasses, 1 standard orange brad, 2 orange mini brads, and the sand bucket Brad Buddy and brads. Attach the bucket buddy and brads to the center of the tag punch-out. Sand the edges of the tag and then Zot a ribbon to the handle of the bucket. Glue blue ribbon across orange paper leaving a 1/8" border at the top. Glue the tag overlapping the striped paper, orange paper, and ribbon. Attach the sunglasses brad and yellow sun brad to the rectangle as shown. Glue the rectangle even with card front. Sand the front, concentrating on straight edges.

5. Inside the card: Cover the inside with blue textured paper and sand the edges. Create another punched border with orange paper: 5" x 3-1/2". Sand the straight edges and glue centered over the blue paper. Glue aqua ribbon across the center. Write or computer print "Celebrate!" on the striped label, add sanded mini brads to the ends and attach centered over the ribbon. Add the remaining sun brad.

Enjoy Sweet Treats Card

LeNae's Designer Tip: When piecing the Dazzles stickers with different papers, start at the dish portion and silver holographic paper, only adhering the dish to the edge of the paper. Use small scissors and lift the Dazzles as you cut the paper under the sticker.

Instructions:

1. Place the card fold at the top. Cover with silver holographic paper. Cut the confetti paper into a 4-3/4" x 6-1/4" rectangle and ink the edges brown. Glue to the card center. Cut a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" rectangle of striped paper. Ink and mat with brown paper, leaving a 1/16" wide border. Glue to the left side of the card. Adhere the cherry border 3/4" from the bottom edge of the striped rectangle.

2. Piece the banana split with silver for the dish, gold for the banana, pink paper for the ice cream, a red holographic cherry with green stem. Glue the split to a 3" light blue square with inked edges and matted with brown paper. Adhere a row of crystal stickers at the top and bottom edge. Foam tape the square over the striped rectangle. Adhere "Enjoy" at the top right card corner.

3. Inside the card: Cut a 1-3/4" strip of confetti paper and ink the edges brown. Glue to the card inside back, 1/2" from the left edge. Adhere "Sweet Treats" to the brown tag and glue to the top of the strip. Top the tag with a crystal. Foam tape the ice cream float stamp cut-out to the left and an ice cream cone Dazzle to the right.

Fairy Birthday Card

Instructions:

1. Cover the card with striped paper and trim even with the card edges. Cut a 4" x 5" strip of yellow swirl paper and journal or stamp "Happy Birthday" on the paper. Mat the yellow paper with white cardstock. Trim the cardstock edges with the mini scallop scissors.

2. Adhere the stripped bracket punch-outs to each side of the writing. Punch holes at opposite corners on each and secure a starburst brad. Adhere the yellow paper to the center of the card front. Use a Zot to attach a pink bow at the bottom center.

3. For the inside: Cut a 1-1/2" x 5" strip of striped paper and mat 1 long edge with white cardstock. Trim the cardstock with the scalloped scissors and glue another strip of patterned yellow paper behind the scallop. Glue the paper strip to the inside back as shown. Attach a silver fairy brad and a pink flower secured with a blue mini brad at the center.

Happy Father's Day Card

Instructions:

1. Place the fold of the card at the left. Trim 1-3/4" away from front of the card. Cut a 3" x 6-1/2" brown texture paper rectangle and a 2-3/4" x 6-1/4" green diamond rectangle. Ink the edges and glue together. Cut a 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" tan paper rectangle, ink the edges and mat with navy paper. Glue to the diamond paper as shown.

2. Write a greeting on the 'outdoor adventure' tag and sand the edges. Add penwork to the tag and the tan mat. Lightly sand the fishing pole Brad Buddy and attach to the tag and mat as shown. Foam tape the tag to the tan mat and glue the entire piece to the front of the card.

3. Inside the card: Cut a 1-1/2" x 6-1/4" strip of navy paper. Ink the edges and mat with tan and brown texture paper. Lightly sand the snail and dragonfly cut-outs and add penwork. Foam tape them to the navy strip with sanded Brad Buddies as shown. Glue the strip to the right inside back - so it shows when the card is closed.

Butterfly Birthday Card

Laura's Designer Tip: Piece the border Dazzles around the papers and connect pieces with nailheads and pearls.

Instructions:

1. Place fold of the card on the left. Cover the card front with green striped paper. Cut the dark purple paper to 4-1/2" x 6", ink the edges and glue to the center of the striped paper. Cut the green floral paper to 3-1/2" x 5-1/2", ink the edges, and glue to the left edge of the purple mat. Cut purple vellum to 2-1/2" x 4-1/2" and glue to the center of the green floral paper.

2. Place the dot and dash border Dazzles on the right edge of the purple paper. Trim flush to the edge of the purple and add gold pearls to the ends. Add the same border Dazzles to the vertical sides of the green floral paper and trim flush to the ends. Place the short remaining border pieces on the horizontal edges of the green floral paper. Fill gaps in the border with diamond border Dazzles. Add pearls in the corners and nailheads to the diamond sections.

3. Ink the edges of the tabs and glue to the edges of the green floral and purple mats.

4. Back flowers with copper mesh and purple paper. Foam tape smaller flowers to the center of the large flower and cut around the Dazzles. Add pearls and nailheads for the centers and add to the vellum mat.

5. Ink the edges of the word labels and foam tape around the flowers. Add gold pearls to the ends of the labels.

6. Ink the edges of the card front.

Happy Birthday Metal Flower Card

Susan's Designer Tip: I used the pointed tool in the tool set to outline the template shapes onto the back of the metal, against the thin foam pad. I also used the tool to emboss the shapes inside the petals. I refined the shapes with one of the flat-edged tools against the acrylic mat. After cutting out the shapes, I sanded the embossed areas to highlight them.

Instructions:

1. With the fold at the left, cover the card front with the red circles border paper, with the border at the left. Ink the edges. Attach a 1/8" strip of plum metal to the left edge of the card front.

2. Turn over the desired color of metal so the silver side is up, then place over the thin mat on your work surface. Place the template on top of the metal. Use the pointed end tool to outline the desired flower shape, plus the inner shape. Turn the metal piece over and trim loosely around the shape. Place on the acrylic mat and use the pointed tool and a flat-ended tool to define the lines and shape. Cut out the shape, then sand the embossed areas. Repeat for more flower shapes, a green stem, and 2 leaves.

3. Layer the flowers together with foam tape. Attach stem and leaves in place with Zots. Foam tape the flowers over the top of the stem. Write "Happy Birthday" along bottom of the leaf as shown.

Ice Cream Cone Pocket Card

LeNae's Designer Tip: I printed my message onto light ivory cardstock using my computer. After printing, I traced the tag shape around the words and cut it out.

Instructions:

1. Follow the instructions on the template and trace the ice cream cone shape onto the back of the brown cardstock. Cut the cone and pocket lining from tan dot paper and the additional scoop from brown stripe paper. Assemble the pocket and cone.

2. Trace and cut the cherry from pink paper and the stem and leaf from lime green. Assemble and glue to the top of the ice cream. Use a smudge of red chalk on the cherry.

3. Write "For My Sweet Dad" on the light ivory cardstock and trace around it with the Mocha Latte tag shape. Cut out and glue a torn strip of brown strip at the bottom of the tag. Ink the edges brown and place the tag in the pocket with a gift card.

Happy Birthday Ice Cream Sundae

Susan's Designer Tip: This makes a fun gift wrap for a small birthday gift or other treat. The foil makes it really sturdy. Tacky glue works well to keep the tabs in place.

Instructions:

1. For the Ice Cream Cup: Position the template on the back of the blue paisley foil and trace the entire cup pattern including all fold lines. Keep pencil close to the inside edge. Remove the template and cut around the outer edges. Score all fold lines and fold as follows: Fold A is a Valley Fold and Fold B is a Mountain Fold. Glue each tab to the inside of its neighboring panel.

2. For the Ice Cream: Position the template on the back of the Pink Polka Dot Foil. Trace the entire pattern including all fold and cut lines. Keep your pencil close to the inside edge. Remove the template and cut around the outer edges and along the inner cut lines. Score all fold lines and then fold. Glue each tab to the inside of its neighboring panel. Working clockwise, hook each top swirl in the center. Tuck each swirl under the previous one with the last swirl under the first (top will be very fluffy and edges will stick out a bit).

3. Place the ice cream in the ice cream cup. Trace and cut out the topper from light pink cardstock. Working clockwise, fold each arm inward, interlocking at the center. Lift the first arm to tuck in the last arm. Add mini brad at the center of the topper and Zot to the top of your ice cream. Trace and cut out a light pink tag. Write or computer print "Happy Birthday!" on the tag then punch a hole at the top. Hang tag from ice cream with silver Memory Thread. Trace and cut out spoon from blue paisley foil and glue to the ice cream as shown.

Chocolate Ice Cream Sundae

Instructions:

1. Trace the template on the back of foil paper, be sure to mark the fold lines. Remove the template and cut out the pattern. Fold according to the template directions.

2. Sand the edges of the ice cream swirl to define the edges.

3. For the cherry made from Memory Thread: start with 24" of red Memory Thread, make a narrow loop, 3/4" long. Continuing with the same length of Memory Thread, make another loop across the center of the first loop (so the loops look like a +). Now wrap around the center 3 times horizontally, then 3 times vertically. Continue wrapping until you have used the length of thread. Now shape into a ball and Zot
to the top of the chocolate ice cream.

Ice Cream Sundae

Laura's Designer Tip: Trace the template shape on the back of the foil paper. Erase the pencil lines as you fold the shape.

Instructions:

1. Trace and cut out the sundae holder using the butterfly foil paper. Fold into shape, following the template instructions and glue.

2. Trace and cut out the ice cream using the swirl vellum. Fold into shape and glue inside the dish.

3. Trace and cut out the topper using the red tapestry foil. Foam tape to the top of the ice cream.

4. Trace and cut out the spoon using the hammered silver paper and glue to the ice cream.

Strawberry Thank You Box

Instructions:

1. Trace the template on the back of foil paper, be sure to mark the fold lines. Remove the template and cut out the pattern. Fold according to the template directions.

2. Add light green Memory Thread around the base of the leaves, then wrap around the stalk of the cotton swab to curl it. Twist (2) 5" lengths of red Memory Thread together, then make a loop. Attach at the top of the box for a handle, and secure with the brad, attaching the leaves as well. Add the strawberry tag and small leaf to 1 of the light green tendrils at the side of the box.

Disneyland Resort

LeNae's Designer Tip: Notice the printed border at the top of each page, the punch-out border glued across the bottom, and the photos and journaling running diagonally between the 2? This creates a basic "Z" shape in the page layouts, which is the natural path a viewer's eye will take when looking at your pages - entering from the top left corner of the page and exiting from the bottom right. Using a "Z" formation lets you know where to effectively place your page elements and adds balance to the layout.

Instructions:

For Page 1:

1. Place a sheet of aqua paper with the Mickey block border at the top. Double-mat a 7" x 5" photo on yellow, then black cardstock, trimming each mat to 1/8". Glue the photo centered on the page.

2. Foam tape the "Disneyland Resort" punch-out to the top right corner of the photo. Attach the Mickey Brad Buddy to the bottom right corner.

3. Add a yellow mouse head brad to a small tag punch-out. Glue the tag to the left side of the photo. Zot a bow of red ribbon to the tag's tab. Computer journal the date on white cardstock, then mat on black cardstock and trim to 1/16". Glue the year tucked under the bow.

4. Glue a Mickey border punch-out across the bottom of the page. Foam tape a Mickey tile punch-out to the left end.

For Page 2:

1. Place another sheet of aqua paper with the Mickey block border at the top. Glue a Mickey border punch-out across the bottom of the page.

2. Mat a 4" x 5" and a 6" x 4" photo on black cardstock, trimming each mat to 1/8". Glue the vertical photo in the top right corner of the page, just below the printed border. Glue the horizontal photo in the bottom left corner of the page, just above the punch-out border. Foam tape a word punch-out to the right edge of each photo.

3. Computer journal in blue ink on white cardstock. Mat on black cardstock and trim to 1/8". Glue the mouse head tab punch-out behind the left edge of the journaling. Glue the journaling above the horizontal photo and add three mini brads to the bottom edge. Glue the ticket punch-out below the vertical photo.

Cinderella

LeNae's Designer Tip: Have an empty spot in the corner of your photo? Want to add a little flair to a pre-printed page border? Don't be afraid to overlap! Overlapping elements is a great way to create unity and lead the viewer's eye through your layouts.

On this "Cinderella" spread, LeNae overlapped her journaling block with a small photo, glued punch-outs over the larger photos and added tags and Brad Buddies on top of the page border.

Repeating the overlapping technique in a few areas of the pages helps to unify the spread as a whole. And overlapping saves on space too, which means you can include more of your favorite photos!

Instructions:

For Page 1:

1. Place a sheet of blue paper with the striped border at the bottom. Double-mat a 5" x 7" photo on pink, then white cardstock, trimming each mat to 1/8". Glue the photo in the top left corner of the page.

2. Glue the "Cinderella" punch-out to the bottom right corner of the photo. Add a gold crown brad to a blue tag punch-out and glue it to the top right corner of the photo. Zot a bow of pink ribbon to the tag's tab.

3. Computer journal a vertical block on white cardstock, then crop with 2-1/2" blank space at the bottom. Glue the journaling to the right side of the page. Foam tape a small photo in the space below the journaling. Add 3 mini brads to the left of the photo. Zot a bow of pink ribbon above the journaling.

4. Attach the pumpkin carriage Brad Buddy to the printed page border, centered below the journaling.

For Page 2:

1. Place another sheet of blue paper with the striped border at the bottom. Mat a 7" x 5" photo on pink cardstock and trim to 1/8". Mat again on white cardstock, trimming the right edge to 2" and the remaining edges to 1/8". Glue the photo centered at the top of the page.

2. Attach the "dreams do come true" punch-out to the top of the large edge of the photo mat. Foam tape the Cinderella punch-out below. Add a pink crown brad above the top left corner of the photo.

3. Computer journal a horizontal strip on white cardstock. Glue below the bottom right edge of the photo and add 3 mini brads. Glue the glass slipper punch-out to the left of the journaling and accent with a white starburst brad. Glue folded ribbon behind the top of the mouse punch-out, then foam tape it to the right end of the printed page border.

Girls in Flowers

LeNae's Designer Tip: The Artsy Collage book is great! I used the fairies art to add to my layout, but there is tons of different art themes to add to your projects including travel, baby, masculine, and more.

Instructions:

For Page 1:

1. Ink the edges of an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of purple paper. Use the Multi-Shaper Punch to punch two perpendicular sides of the paper, stopping 1 ¾" from each end and glue to the dark green fern paper, 1-1/4" from the top.

2. Cut a sheet of 5-1/2" x 8" light blue sponged paper and ink the edges black. Journal at the bottom of the paper and glue to the right side of the punched paper. Mat (2) 4" x 6" photos on black glimmer paper, leaving a 1/8" wide border and glue overlapping the blue sponged paper. Adhere a Dazzles flower border above the journaling on the blue sponged paper.

3. Create a cluster of both torn and cut paper elements from the Collage book. Glue and foam tape them overlapping at the bottom left corner. Line a large Dazzles humming bird with burgundy glimmer paper and cut close to the sticker edge. Foam tape the Dazzles and a green ribbon bow to the bottom left with the cluster.

For Page 2:

1. Ink the edges of an 8-1/2" x 11" sheet of purple paper. Use the Multi-Shaper Punch to punch two perpendicular sides of the paper, stopping 1-3/4" from each end and glue to the light green fern paper.

2. Overlap the 5-1/2" x 8" blue swirl rectangle and a matted 5" x 7" photo, as shown. Attach paper cut outs, art, and ribbon bows down the left side of the page. Create a cluster of art, a ribbon bow and another backed Dazzles in the upper right corner of the page. nd the edges of a large slide mount innie. Flock and let dry, leaving the center clear for foam tape and adhere the "gratitude" cut-out. Secure a mini brad to the top of the large tag, add the "gratitude" cut-out and glue to the right side of the card.
